Spinoff to House Cleaning Contest: Are you a good "cleaner"?

I am the WORST cleaner. Every time I set my mind to clean, I end up sitting on the couch surrounded by tons of photos that I meant to organize, but I start looking through. If I pick up a bunch of stuff to put away from area A to area B, I never go back and finish area A, I stay at area B and then move from there to area C or D. My apartment is by no means "dirty." I sweep and mop the floors, clean the stovetop, wash dishes, schlep the laundry to the laundromat, but I can't honestly say it's spic and span. I'm just not that good.

I'm okay. I just need to be more consistent and thorough. There are some weeks where I SCRUB the bathroom and kitchen and then other weeks I just wipe things down.

Some weeks I move furniture to vacuum, sweep and even mop! Other weeks, I do it half a$$ed.

For me, it's the clutter that annoys me. Overall, the apt. is clean. Just stuff is out.

I am horrible and it drives me nuts. I have limitations now because of a big baby belly (I can't use bleach, get down and scrub) and my back kills me when I mop too much.

I do what I can but it is like I am on a permanent cleaning mission.

Some weeks...when I have time...I clean for hours

Other weeks...I do the minium

This week my amazing bf cleaned everything but the bathroom and my clothes...so I will do that

We are talking about getting some help...we both work so much...tomorrow is my first day off since 1/3

I'm a GREAT cleaner. I just don't ever do it, hence the cleaning lady.

have help but when I'm on a roll I clean like a freak!

I am an AWESOME cleaner and my house is proof of it (even with 2 kids) I have an issue though. I am OCD. Everything has a 'home" in my house, therefore I have zero crap laying around.

YEP, me too. I could probably deep clean better but I feel everything should have a home and it should STAY in that home.

Cleaner yes, when I have the time and that is the hard part. Organizer - no way!!!

I am an obsessive cleaner. I scrub my house top to bottom, clean my floor on my hands and knees, move all the furniture, wipe all the cabinets... I enjoy cleaning thoroughly and I have pets so i feel like I need to clean that 'hard'.

I go through phases.

I am not the greatest cleaner, but I like to think I do a good job.

Once I get going I'm a whirling dervish of cleaning. I do have a tendency of letting it go. If I would break it up through out the week instead of waiting til the weekend it would be better.

I LOVE doing dishes! Give me a pile to the sky and I'd be happy scrubbing away for hours.

However...vacuuming, mopping and sweeping....HECK NO! DH does that! I like cleaning the bathroom and dusting also, we split up the chores. I'm lucky I have a DH that LIKES to clean!

I'm terrible. I am rarely motivated to do much more than the bare minimum to keep the house liveable. I mean.. there's nothing on the floor and no food laying around or anything that would bring critters.. but I rarely dust or deep clean or anything really much deeper than a quick mop.

I am an aspirational cleaner. I like the idea of cleaning and I keep telling myself I will ... but then there's always something better to do....


It's SO bad that DH ends up doing a bulk of the cleaning because he can't stand to look at the mess! He literally has to pry me off the couch to help him!!!

I could be a suzy homemaker with a spotless house, but it's just not important to me. My house can be messy with a 3 yo, but it's never actually dirty. I could clear away the crap in a half hour and have people over if need be.

I try to do the best I can. I wash the floors and dust and vaccume.It's my room that does not always clean because I need to get rid of papers and things.

I love to clean and nothiny makes me feel better than finally sitting down in a spotless house
