Spinoff to insurance not covering tests
This is all new to me. When I first got pregnant I called and they said just to make the first copayment at the doctor and the rest were covered. I never thought to ask about anything. Now I'm concerned. My insurance is not the best (it wouldn't cover my prenatal vitmains)... If I call them up what kind of specific things should I ask about? I am clueless and now worried...

Re: Spinoff to insurance not covering tests
My prenatals were not covered by my health insurance...and I think I have a really good plan/coverage.
I called up the insurance company and explained that I was pregnant and that along with what we expect to be a healthy pregnancy, I would have to go for sonograms, bloodwork, etc. I asked them to explain what I needed to know in terms of my coverage.
They explained that I needed to use Labcorp or the LIJ centers for bloodwork and testing...not quest so I was clear to tell everyone that. But other than that they explained how my deductible worked and what I would be responsible for. I never paid a dime out of pocket for my stay in the hospital.
