Insurance covering formula
A friend of mine has twins and they are on NeoSure (i think that's what called). I know some people have posted that they got their insurance to cover it -- can anyone help out?

Re: Insurance covering formula
have her call her insurance company or the part that covers prescriptions. They will be able to tell her if it is covered. It probably is. If it isn't she can fight it by having her doctor right a letter of medical necissity, which it is, the babies need it to gain weight.
My ins. covered it with me only paying a higher copay. My DH's I had to fight it but I eventually won but his was still very expensive I think I ended up not paying for a few cases in the long run (that's how high the copay was).
Hope this helps.

Re: Insurance covering formula
somone on here gave me this info...
I called Apria Healthcare (1-877-536-8372 - they are a supplier) and you give them your insurance info and they contact your insurance and find out for you. Its a 5 minute call and you will find out within 48 hours. If your plan does cover it, your doctor needs to send a letter of medical necessity and a prescription. I get a supply delivered every month for free.
they are fabulous!!!

Re: Insurance covering formula
My dr. had to contact the insurance co. and give them a diagnosis and then the ins. co contacted me and gave me the # of suppliers in the area. We get it delivered monthly with no co-pay.

Our doctors office took care of this for us too. They had to write a letter of why it is necessary for my DD to be on the formula, diagnosis etc. We use Continued Care and they have been great. We call once a month to get a new shipment and its always at our door within a few days- also no copay.

Re: Insurance covering formula
I called Apria b/c so many people here recommended them. I believe that it saved me a lot of aggravation. We are covered for Elecare, we pay 20% per our policy. To the OP: you mentioned that your friend's babies are on Neosure. I think it might be Neocate that is more commonly covered.
