Spinoff to Ladies Who Have Taken Provera
Do you know if it's true that just b/c AF showed up that you may not have O'd?
I was thinking of going this route b/c I've come off Depo Provera (the shot) and after about 5 months AF still has not shown up. I was told even if I do take provera I still might not ovulate.

Yeah, I believe that is true. I think the Provera sets up your hormones so AF comes but does not mean you ovulated.. from the research I have done, if you don't start ovulating when you get your period with provera, they put you on clomid to make you ovulate. I have not had my period in 3 months and am going to the dr. today. I will post later what I find out.

Yes, I believe it's true.
My OB/GYN also told me that AF brought on my Provera is called Withdrawal Bleeding.

Thank you both for responding.
Hopin - I hope all goes well for you today, I'll be thinking of you.
MrsRbk - Do you know anything else about "Withdrawal Bleeding"? My doctor didn't mention that, but I don't think she's really so keen on putting me on Provera yet so I think she's somewhat avoiding the topic for now. She said we'd visit the idea of Provera after a few more months.

Re: Spinoff to Ladies Who Have Taken Provera
The provera does NOT cause you to ovulate.. it is like a fake period. Sometimes by inducing the "fake" period, it can kickstart your cycle.
