spinoff to Liza's autism post... sort of
As we approach Spencer's 2 year birthday (next week) i just want to share my joy about how he is doing to date
for those who remember.. Spencer had a seizure when he was about 14 months old.. this triggered multiple visits to 2 different neurologists.. who suggested we have him tested for Autism.. As you know, my oldest has Aspergers so i was TERRIFIED... i had him evaluted through EI honestly out of fear i didn't have him ADOS tested . he recieved services because he wasn't answering to his name.. turning when you called him... pointing at things at all.. and he didn't speak.. he also was obsessed with spinning wheels.. in my head, i had alot to worry about.. though i didn't post much about it. (these autism posts are just to emotional to me)
Well now.... he's doing awesome.. his special ed (ABA ) teacher tells me there's no way he's autistic in any way... and she 's now backed up by the neurologist and his speech teacher, the pediatrician, and us (his parents)... he has made
huge changes in his receptive speech and does everything appropriately and now as we approach his second birthday... he has well over 100 words.. including putting together verbs and nouns..
i am so proud and so relieved!!!

That is wonderful..... Great to hear that he is doing so well. It must have been a tough time for you. My nephew has Ausbergers but wasn't diagnosed until recently - he's 13 years old...
