Spinoff to maternity leave~
where can I get info on what exactly goes on through FMLA...
I know its a min. of 6 weeks paid and 6 weeks unpaid (a total of them holding your position for 12 weeks)
But how do I find out what the exact amount of money the paid is..??? Is it a dollar amount??? A percentage of what you make????
Also I have to use the rest of my vacation time...My boss was telling me I should get rid of it before September..because my leave is based on how many hours WORKED (not paid) the month before I go out...
Friends have told me differently..Who knows when this baby will decide to come...how do I know when I need to use it by??
Im so confused... some info...or a phone number would be great!!!!!

Not sure I will answer all your questions, but I will tell you what I had through FMLA. My company does not have a maternity policy, so I had to use all my vacation and sick time that I accrued, and that was only 1 weeks worth. Which was fine because it held me over because there is a 1 week wait period before the state disability kicks in (that's what my company used for maternity leave). From NYS, I received $170 a week for 8 weeks (I had a c/s). And they take taxes out, so it amounts to nothing. I took a total of 12 weeks, so that first week I used my vacation time, the next 8 weeks were state disability at $170 per week, and the last 3 were unpaid. I ended up not going back FT anyway.

Pretty much the same thing here. Under the FMLA I got 12 weeks unpaid, had to use all my vacation/personal/sick time (which wasn't much) and collected short term disability for 6 weeks ($170 a week). I added on 2 more weeks to my leave for a total of 14 weeks off. And then went back to work full time.
Check out this website - maybe it will help answer some questions you might have.
