actually, it only takes 2 seconds to click on the little triangley guy right there at the bottom of the box...
setting up threads with polls in it--- now, that takes up some time, but i guess you've already cleaned your house, so its all good

I couldn't care less what board a post is on. Obviously, if I saw a pregnancy post on the pet board or a "my dog threw up what do I do" post on the TTC board, I would think it more than a little odd, but it's not my job to moderate the boards.

its the least of my problems. im not on here enough to begin with..if i am..i read..i answer..and i ask questions..if no one answers..then thats ok...if they move it..fine..i always add it to my notebook if its important enough for me. this way i dont lose it just in case..

I think if you're going to have different boards, they should be used. Otherwise what's the point of having them? And if everyone just posted wherever they felt like all the time, the boards would be complete and utter chaos.
Sure, it's easy just to post anything you want whereever you want, but it's just as easy to post in the right place.

The NFR board is TOO broad of a catagory & its hard to draw the line.
Right now there are husband & FIL posts on the 1st page in this forum.....I would say those ARE family related. Yesterday there were hairstyle posts everywhere, BTW I don't give a rat's a$$ where or what people post, its not crucial to me either way.
What exactly is "not family related"? We all are part of a family, and anything that has to do with an object or non-living thing basically has its own forum now...if this forum was only NFR for that it would be the slowest.
Lets say it like it is, vendors/businesses are PAYING to sponsor specific boards. The OWNERS of this BUSINESS-LIF have an obligation to those paying sponsors to keep the appropriate traffic in the appropriate catagory.
It doesn't matter if it is your first post or your 100,000th. If anything, if you've been here long enough you should KNOW the rules & nobody should expect special priveldges.

But personally, I think there are TOO many boards. I know people begged and lobbied for them. But why do we need so many??
Whats the difference between FHF and Relationship? Plus lots of NFR stuff can fit into those two catagories.
There are so many boards that I never check (fashion/bereavment/travel/storyboard, etc...), but if the posts were on NFR I would be interested and respond. I never even realized we had a charity board 
If I were queen of the boards, I would keep Most of the family related boards but combine FHF/Relationship. And on teh NFR catagory, just keet NFR, maybe Pets, Home team and celebrity.

Im not being an azz when I ask this but how can you not know we have other boards??? all you have to do is scroll down when you are on the main chat board area and see all the different sections.
I never understand when someone says they didnt know we had other boards....

I hardly ever read anything but NFR, too. I've been checking fashion and celeb lately, but only out of boredom.

There are some boards that may not be necessary...but I also think boards like the Bereavement board are helpful for those going through it, plus people who don't want to talk about their lost loved ones don't have to read/see posts related to it.
As far as the Relationship/FHF there is a difference - the topics discussed in Relationships are much more risque than those in FHF - so you may not go on the Relationship board when you have a child around.

because I only go to the boards I go to. I generally don't scroll down the list and think, what board should I visit today? I'm sure I looked at it a ton of times, but it was never something that registered.

That's a good point. So when I am queen- Bereavment can stay. 
I also see what you are saying about "relationships" vs FHF. But then relationships should probably have a more adult title. Because anything can be under relationship.
