Re: spinoff to my clothing size post....
I was surprised to see what size Cailen wore as well, but I think you have said that you don't buy "traditional" baby clothes or clothes from "traditional" baby lines, right? Maybe that is throwing off the sizing?

That's exactly what I meant, I have never bought or received any brands like that for my DS. So, I know how Carters, Baby Gap, Old Navy, etc, run, and I guess that is what I consider "traditional", KWIM?

Good question - like, Carters is traditional for me - he can wear 24 mts in some of the clothes... He still has the 12 mts stretchy pants but they are like capris on him - he wears them to bed.
Gymboree - 3T, Children's place, the 24 mts t-shirts JUST fit - he has their 4T, and they fit perfectly - a little baggy - he wears the 3T shorts...
Lucky - he wears 2T still - they fit him pretty well...
Junk food is a joke - he wears 5T - they all run tiny - although he still has some 3T hanging on for dear life!!!
Gap - 2T still works for him
Any shirt from Cafe press or American apparel shirts must be 4T at this point. He is broad like his mommy (my shoulders make most things not fit me well...)
ETA: I bought the following jeans on sale for great prices and they are "on deck" because they are still too big:
Diesel - 3T Sean John 3T

Re: spinoff to my clothing size post....
I think it also has to do with how you dry their clothes. My friend has a 10 month old daughter who is in 18-24 month clothes and she is smaller than my DS who is almost 13 months and in 12-18 and some 18 month clothes.
I hang his clothes to dry where she puts them in the dryer.

Re: spinoff to my clothing size post....
Personally I always find it strange that my boys are pretty true to size/age. I've often heard that they are big, esp my younger son, but he wears a 2t @ 26 months. So size-wise, he's not that big. But I do think he's big...he's 32 lbs., I mean, I'm inclined to agree if someone says he's a big boy. I guess it depends on where they need the larger size. Some kids have a bigger belly. Not that they are "fat" but they have a wider belly. some are just bigger boned.
What size does your DS wear in pants? Shorts and shirts, esp with boys, can be worn in all different sizes (I have a pic of my son from last year at 15 months wearing the same shirt as he wears this summer) He's big but his waist is not which would be the only reason I might put him in a bigger pair of shorts, if the 2Ts were too tight, KWIM?

Re: spinoff to my clothing size post....
I think a lot of the "novelty" type clothing runs small (i.e. T-shirts from say Spencers, Hot Topic, etc.)
I try not to put things in the dryer that I think might shrink. Carters never shrinks so that goes in, but most of the dresses and shirts don't.
