Spinoff to my congestion post: WWYD

DD's either congested or her nose is running pretty much for 1.5 weeks now. A slight DRY cough here and there, nothing much at all.

Would you take her to the doctor? I feel like it's just seasonal allergies starting or a mild cold, so why bother dragging her there? But maybe I should take her, although it really seems like just congestion. Chat Icon

If it's been going on for over a week, I'd bring her in.

She may have a slight infection and need an antibiotic.

You know I was just about to post the same thing.
I think if Ali still has her cough in the morning, I am going to take her Chat Icon

I actually took DS in for something similar today----runny nose for 2 weeks with a mild dry cough that started to sound a bit juicy yesterday---they said I did the right thing but that he was fine, it was just a cold. Hope she feels better soon Chat Icon

If she is breathing ok ( no wheezing) then no I wouldnt take her.

A chest congestion normally takes 10-14 days to start to clear...and thats just "clear" , my Ped always advises us to wait out a cough 3 weeks....if there is no wheezing or fever.Chat Icon
