Spinoff to my own post flying with DD/waking her up earlier than normal?

She normally gets up between 7 and 730 we're probably leaving the house at 5 and will probably getting her up at 4:30...I think thats what I'm most nervous about is getting her up sooooo early...do I let her sleep in the car on the way to the airport and in the airport in the stroller or try to keep her up and have her fall asleep on the plane...not sure if she will fall asleep on the plane though...oyyyy can you tell how nervous I am???

When we went to Disney last year we had to leave super early. We left Kaydyn in her PJs and put her immediately in the car seat. She slept on the way to my ILs house.

Once we put her in the car for the airport we tried to keep her awake (it was probably 6:00am at that point). She didn't sleep on the plane at all, but she was still really good.

thanks! I was planning on keeping her in her pj's...our car ride to the airport is literally like 20 minutes...so thats my apprehension, should I keep her awake until we board or let her just sleep and deal with her being awake on the plane???

If it was me I would try if it's only 20 mins. We had a longer ride b/c we had to stop at my ILs so we let her sleep on the way there. We also knew that even though we got to my ILs at 6am, our flight wasn't leaving until 8:45am so we figured she would be tired again.

I would keep her in her pjs (I actually just put her in leggings and a tee shirt) and let her sleep on the way to the airport. Then you can wake her, change her and let her run around or play to wear her out before the flight this way she can be freshly changed and get out her energy before you board. We did that with DD when we flew with her when she was 15 months and it worked well.
