I used to always be on time, or, even early...Now, with 2 kids, no matter how hard I try, Im late.
I have 2 kids too and it gets harder. I just give myself at least an extra hour now.

Re: Spinoff to not having time--LATENESS
It depends.....
When it comes work, I'm about 15-30 minutes late everyday
But as for personal plans, I'm usually a few minutes early when meeting people and there within the first few minutes of the start time for a party.
If you worked with me you wouldn't believe it but I hate being late !

Re: Spinoff to not having time--LATENESS
Generally I'm pretty punctual. I'm always on time for work and appointments and getting the kids to school. If I'm going somewhere with DH though, forget about it! He's the king of being late...

Re: Spinoff to not having time--LATENESS
I am usually on time to work in the morning. Sometimes a few minutes early, sometimes a few minutes late.
Part of my job involves meeting clients at different locations (usually their homes or businesses). I make every effort to be at least 10 mins early, since those appointments are the first and only impression I get to give. Sometimes I'll have hours of travel, where traffic was significantly worse than expected, and I can't help my lateness. BUT, if I know I'm going to be late, I call at least 30 minutes before the original appointment to give them the heads up, which I hope is appreciated. I'll give them a new ETA of a few minutes later than I actually expect to get there so it seems like I'm early.
For personal engagements, ironically, I am usually late. Sometimes on purpose, because I hate to be the first person to a party, bbq or restaurant.

It depends where I'm going. Work? Early. Most Family? On time. Some Family? Late. With Friends? On time.

Re: Spinoff to not having time--LATENESS
I am always early. VERY EARLY. I am usually the first person at the church for a wedding LOL I even get to mass 15 minutes before it starts. I have anxiety issue and getting somewhere and settling down before other people get there really helps me!

Re: Spinoff to not having time--LATENESS
Even with a kid I am always early....it's something I pride myself on. DH and I literally cannot be late! I swear, even when we make an effort to be late, we're still the first ones there! I think being always late is very rude (obviously we all get a pass sometimes)...it drives me wacky....

Re: Spinoff to not having time--LATENESS
I like to be a few minutes early. Like PPs have said, I get anxiety when I think I am going to be late to things. The only times I am late is when I am going into the city and the train schedule either gets me there like 50 minutes early or 5 minutes late. I usually let people know about my predicament beforehand, so they expect me to be late.
Growing up, however, my family was late to everything. My parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents. I swear it is genetic and somehow skipped me. Even my siblings are always running late.

Late. It's a horrible flaw that I really do need to correct. It does show a lack of respect to the person waiting.
Ditto. Although I have gotten better about it since I've been married and become a Mom.

I used to be either on time or 1-2 minutes late. now that I have a kid, I don't even want to say how late I am sometimes for work, I'm 10-15 minutes late every day, it's bad!

same here. For me, I think, it is somewhat cultural. My family is of Cuban descent and truthfully, punctuality is really not something that is valued in the culture. For instance - Christmas Eve - there is no real set "dinner time" so dinner is either when everyone gets ther or whenever the "whole roasted pig" is done, which ever is later. We don't tell people "be here at X time".
Of course, I am only referring to social situations. I am never late to business engagements.

I find it very disrespectful to keep people waiting. DH is the opposite and I get into arguments whenever we go somewhere together!

I'm obsessed with punctuality.
I don't even know why - I'm just almost always on time and the RARE time I'm not, it drives me nuts!

Re: Spinoff to not having time--LATENESS
I am always running a few minutes late. Things always come up last minute. Even when I put in a real conscious effort to get someplace early, I swear to you no matter how hard I try, I always end up running late. I'll try leaving 10-15 minutes earlier than I really need to & every time without fail I'll get caught in traffic behind an accident or road work or something & I'll still end up being late. I cannot figure out how no matter what time I leave to go to a certain location, I always get there at the same time no matter how early I leave.

Re: Spinoff to not having time--LATENESS
Before DD becamw really active I was never late. Now I am always running a few minutes behind schedule.
I can never seem to get out of the house on time. It seems whenever I have to get myself ready, she is up my butt and won't let me do anything. And I can't leave the house a mess b/c the new dog will chew everything to pieces so even if I am in a rush, I still have to clean up before I go.
