I am vaccinated and will go. I have a wedding to go to on March. I think its absurd that they are making dancing areas and you can only dance with members of your own household. I mean. Are they going to arrest me because I dance in a circle with the bride and groom? I am surprised because I see so many people saying they wouldn't attend a party but then there's all these complaints about how people are sick of all the testicles and just want to live their lives. It just doesnt make sense to me...
Was testicles an auto correct gone wrong or am I missing something. I sometimes do get sick of all the testicles.

Spinoff to parties
Have not been vaccinated. Since March last year, have done what i normally do. We only have 8 friends we see all the time and hung with them indoors (get togethers, holidays etc). The last time was for Super bowl. Daughter is in school, in dance school and sees her one friend ever so often as well.

I'm the only female in my house and we've been in it for almost a year, so yeah, I'm over the testicles as well.
Although technically my dog no longer has his....
Anyway this CRACKED me up.

Re: Spinoff to parties
What cracks me up is my auto correct usually guesses what the next word will be based on what you typed before. Like when I type Happy it gives me a choice of Birthday. If I type Good it will suggest morning, night etc... So I find it even funnier that when typing- people are sick of all the.... testicles is what popped up!

Re: Spinoff to parties
No indoor parties for us. We had my nieces 4th bday on Sunday. My sis in law had her family over in the early afternoon and us (me, DH, MIL & FIL) over that evening. All masked. Ate in separate rooms for safety.
That’s the extent of indoors with others for me I am comfortable with. As you know, I had Covid in January. So did DH and my Fil & MIL had it too. But there are still other variants we are not protected from with our antibodies.
Once we are all vaccinated, I will be comfortable with indoor gatherings. Because with the vaccine, if we do get it, it “shouldn’t” be as bad as without a vaccine. I know me being vaccinated doesn’t mean I can’t carry it, but I cannot control whether others get the vaccine or not. I will still be careful as always. Hand washing, sanitizer and if I feel something coming on, I won’t go anywhere just in case. But that’s no different than my usual before covid.

It is interesting to hear what different people who have had Covid do after. I have had a few friends and family who had Covid. They range from not seeing friends and family until being vaccinated to others seeing friends and family and going to inside parties. Different comfort levels.

Re: Spinoff to parties
Going to parties isn't really on my, " I wish I could "list. .. I'd rather travel.
Also, in NYS, indoor gatherings are still technically limited to 10 people
Either way, I'd like to wait until I am vaccinated. I'd still be a little nervous about being around unvaccinated people until they know more about the risk of vaccinated people transmitting it, but it would also help if #s went down a little more--closer to summer levels.
RE: going outside int eh winter, it actually hasn't been that cold. During the day it is usually above freezing. I know people 50 is cold for some people, but I walk outside almost everyday & about once a week, I walk with a friend.
I am not an extreme winter lover, but I used to have to go out in the cold to go to work, and it has not been as bad as some other winters.
I did see some people in my neighborhood eating outside when it was like 48 degrees out.

What happens if you have over 10? Someone comes knocking on your door and arrests you? Are you on LI? It’s been pretty cold lately, at least to me.

No, they probably won't arrest you, but it did happen in Canada when some nosy neighbors tattled.
I am a little north of LI- weather is about the same. It hasn't really been in the teens or lower during the day ( that's when it gets too much for me), but it has been snowy. Today was beautiful though.
Everyone's cold tolerance varies. I don't think I'd like to sit out side ( the chairs must be cold) but I am ok walking.

Honestly, if it wasn’t for the new variants , I would be more comfortable with going to parties, etc because I still have antibodies. After being so sick, I DO NOT want to be that way again and will do whatever I can to stop it from happening. I know people who have had it and it wasn’t bad, so they don’t give a crap to get it again because “it was nothing” Good for them. But me? I’ll play it safe until I can be vaccinated. Then I’ll be more comfortable attending more gatherings

Technically they can fine you. However it is 100% unenforceable as several police officials have pointed out. Why? Because an officer is not legally allowed to enter your home without a search warrant unless you invite them in. So they wouldn't be able to prove how many people are in your private home.

I ask because I have had and attended parties inside with more than that and it is just a joke how they can tell you how many people you can have in your private home. That 11th person will just make Covid appear just like being out past 10pm lol

It’s ridiculous as I have attended and had parties over 10 and honestly some had cops there so I guess technically they should have been arresting their friends lololol

Same with gyms. A fine is technically the only thing they can be given, not arresting the owner, or close down the business because a customer is not socially distancing or wearing a mask.

So back over Thanksgiving when the dictator imposed these 10 person in your home limits, many law enforcement agencies came out and said they would not be enforcing it and enjoy your Turkey. Of course the King got all upset and said they were purposely doing it to defy him. But one of these police chiefs came out with a very well thought out answer. He said he actually had a law degree and as chief of police in such and such town, his job was to enforce and UPHOLD the law. And he could not enforce something and make his officers enforce something that was not constitutional and would not hold up in court. Just like you can't throw someone in jail without just cause or reading of rights. You can't legally enter someone's home to do a "head count" without a warrant. The only way to legally enter a private residence is 1- with a search warrant 2- if you are invited in by the home owner 3 if you believe someone in that home is in imminent danger (i.e.... you hear screaming, you hear gunshots, you see someone being assaulted through a window or the place is burning) As much as Cuomo wants to believe he can write laws and shit all over the constitution, those that are sworn to enforce those laws still have to follow the rules. Brilliant!

This is where I get lost too. I can see people having different personal levels of comfort, for sure. But when I see people criticizing others for having events and then having similar events themselves, my eyebrows raise.
