Re: Spinoff to Shelly's post - anyone have time to read?

My boys are older (6 & 4), so I am starting to get my time back. I tell my kids "It's book time!" and they grab a book from their shelves and I grab one from mine and we all sit in the office/library and read.

I also steal some time when my husband plays some rough and tumble stuff with them. They do karate downstairs and I curl up with a nice book!

When they were babies, I still managed to read - but I almost NEVER went on line. Chat Icon Something had to give!

ETA: Just finished Jay Griffiths "A Sideways Look At Time". It took about a week - but mostly because I lost interest about halfway through.

i used to read so much ---- and right now I have 3 books that I am currently working on...

The Memory Keeper's Daughter
The Great Expectations School
and...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...

I am nearly finished with HP --- but I've been working on it since the summer! I might actually get it done this upcoming week since I have off.

Re: Spinoff to Shelly's post - anyone have time to read?

I'm still an avid reader - but nowadays most of my reading is either the newspaper or novels and plays I'm teaching (college professor).

On my nightstand I have a biography of Harry Houdini (halfway through), Bell Canto by Ann Patchett (haven't started), The Omnivore's Dilemma (re-reading it for work), Heart of Darkness (re-reading it for work) and some book on health that is on the bottom of the pile that I haven't gotten to.
