Spinoff to Shorty's PCOS Diet post - bad skin
So at the wonderful age of 32 my skin is hands down the worst its ever been. The doc's told me that sometimes after having kids the symptoms of PCOS can go way (but you never rid yourself of PCOS).
So here I am, 2 kids later and the symptoms are worse than ever. I opted out of taking birth control pills (got preggo on them so I said forget it) and went with the IUD. Love that but with my skin being so bad - not just pimples but like these giant cyst-like things all along my jawline and even a few on my face I don't know what to do. I feel like I'm 16 again, its awful and I'm miserable over it.
The endocrinologist was no help - they wanted to see me again in a year which would be now but my numbers aren't bad enough for them to do anything so I don't feel like wasting my time or copay for them to tell me the same thing.
I've tried every product under the sun, NOTHING works. The only thing that ever worked was the pill but do I really want to have the IUD taken out just to have good skin again?????
Ugh - anyone else have this problem?

Yep! I am 28 and STILL have problems with acne. I have PCOS and since starting metformin in January, I haven't seen a difference. I too have tried every product out there, and haven't found anything that really works. I am now pregnant, so my choices are very limited. Wish I had better advice for you!

How about a dermatologist...my Dr put me on clindamyacin topical solution since I am pregnant and that is helping with my pregnancy acne.

i've tried TONS - prescriptions, over the counter, no difference.
The only thing I started to see improvement with is Tea Tree Oil!
