As a non-smoker I find this a tad bit ridiculous. But whatever. I wont complain because it benefits me & my kid. But come on... really.

I am a non smocker and DS has respiratory issues, yet I find this outterly ridiculous.
Where can you spoke now?
Why not just say you ban smoking all together?
An open cigarette in an open park (assuming it's not next to me on a bench) is not worst than the millions of cars polluting NYC.

In a park it may be a little overboard.
But on a beach I definitely agree. You are way too close to other people on a beach. Banning it on the beach is no different than having it banned at a baseball game.

i think it's wonderful. there's nothing worse than smelling someone else's smoke. gross!
i wish smoking was banned outright.

I have to say, I agree with this also. I hate smoking, I think its absolutely disgusting.
