spinoff to talking (a Josh update)
some of you know that i was very worried that my ds was not babbling much and had no words at 14-15 months. well last month he started babbling a TON (entire conversations including the appropriate hand gestures) and within the last 2-3 weeks he has said at least 20 words!  (he's 16 months) his articulation isn't fabulous but he knows what he's saying and it is recognizable.
so to moms of late talkers  i know what you are going through. be patient, give your dc a language enriched environment and one day it will click. and if your dc needs it, early intervention is really great!
(josh always had great receptive language. oh and he was an early walker.)

Neither of my kids started using words with any consistency until they were 20 months old or greater. I noticed my DS exploded with talking around 26 months, and my DD was a little earlier, at about 22 months.
