Re: Spinoff to vacation - cruising in first tri

Thanks ladies! I feel better about going. Did any of you who were in first tri travel with a note from your dr?
Yes. I travelled with Carnival and they have a form that your doc needs to fill out and sign. It then gets faxed to Carnival. I kept a copy with me onboard.

Just got off the phone with Carnival.. and this is exactly what they said. Keep the form on me at all times, and my dr also had to write a note on letter that was attached t it. I am much further along though, and my pregnancy is noticeable. If I were in my first trimester I probably wouldn't even go through the trouble.

And actually I just reviewed Carnival's policy and it's also 24 weeks.. I think my doctor kind of worked around it.. She wrote on there that she read their cruise policy for pregnancy and that I met the guidelines and am healthy and fit to travel.. I confirmed already that her note is acceptable and they said yes, but I am double checking again today.
Definitely keep note of who you spoke to and when. I've read stories on Cruise Critic of women who had a note, had spoken to the cruiseline, but when they got there, were refused boarding.

Nope. I wasn't showing and no one knew I was pregnant.

I did!! Thank you!! I'm leaving out of FL anyways.. so I wouldn't mind 5 days in Orlando, worst case scenario, but I definitely would demand my refund, so I am holding on to names. I even have it in writing from my "Personal Vacation Planner"- Walt lol.

No I did not have a note. It was so early that if something went wrong there was nothing that could be done. I did not know I needed one and my RE did not mention it.
