SPINOFF to washing; what TOYS do you wash, if any?

i've done 10 loads of baby laundry today and i think i've washed every blanket, burp cloth, sock, mitten, article of clothing...everything i could think of.

i keep eyeing the bag of toys needing to be put away, and i'm just not sure; is it overkill to wash those stuffed animals and little plush/cloth toys that he could be putting in his mouth? i don't want to be crazy, but i want to be safe. please let me know what you plan on doing/have done.

thank you!

ETA more craziness...what about binkies? i'll be sanitizing the bottles before i use them, should i sanitize the pacifiers as well?

i feel like i'm going a little nuts. lol...TIA!!

I know you already did it, but I would stop now and get some rest. The reason being you don't know what size your DC will wear and you might not need everything. As for binkys neither of my kids took to them. Bottles I would wash - but again - your DC might not like the one you picked. All will be alright. You will learn on the job. I know you will do great. Relax and get some sleep. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon As for toys, I did not wash them. I did take a baby wipe to plastic toys before giving them to my kids. I did not wash soft toys unless they spit up on them.

Re: SPINOFF to washing; what TOYS do you wash, if any?

thanks...yeah, i didn't wash any newborn stuff just in case. i didn't get too much of any one size, got some of all different sizes 3m-18m so hopefully everything i washed will be wearable it's tricky to know. i feel so blind going into this, but i guess (hopefully) i'm not the only one! my dr. and dh convinced me to start my FMLA early bc i was having ocular migraines and i drive around for work all day, so the vision loss was a little dangerous for me and baby - but it's left me w wayyyyy too much time to worry about all these things!!

good advice though, i was thinking about wiping down some of the activity stuff (especially the borrowed items), but that's a good idea w the plastic toys too!!

much appreciated. Chat Icon
