Both our parents are aware of our finances. We trust and love them and turn to them for advice. Like now, we're shopping for a home and they know exactly what we're dealing with. As someone whose parents basically paid for her wedding (minus a few vendors that we handled) and whose in-laws were also extremely generous with our home and basically paid our closing costs...we are very open with them. And both sets knew exactly what we got from the wedding. I can understand why some people feel it's not their business, but we just don't feel that way.

i put other cause my parents know but DH's parents dont. they're very opinionated and DH feels the less they know the better. we could win the lottery and have $100M in our account and they would still say we're doing something wrong.

My dad does our taxes so he knows. I always ask him my tax questions and I bounce investment ideas off of him. He's the only person I confide in when it comes to money. My mom doesn't know and I won't volunteer the information. I don't think my inlaws know. They don't talk about money.

My mom has an idea, I dont go into great detail but she knows not to worry.

My mom knows approximately how much we each make and she knows how much our mortgage is too. DH's dad knows how much we make cause he does our taxes...I assume his mom knows too. They're our parents so I don't mind but when I have a nosy Aunt ask me "how much was your house" or "how much are your taxes" I get annoyed.....it's none of their business.

My father has an idea of what we earn because he's done our taxes for us in the past. But he's the only one.

However, what we earn and what our financial situation is are two different things.

I don't believe anyone knows what our financial situation is, nor do I think it's anyone's business.

My parents know everything since my dad is our accountant.

I don't think my FIL or MIL know anything about our salaries. I certainly haven't spoken to them about that. My FIL knows our price range for houses, but that's partially b/c we invited him to see a few of the houses that we were seriously considering.

They don't know details like what our bills total or things like that. They aren't very nosy either.

DH's parents don't know much and really don't ask. However, I think they are convinced that I'm a millionaire.

I think my parents think we make a lot less than we really do. We both have Federal jobs, and I think that my parents think that means they don't pay well..

Also, we're really cheap, so our lack of splurging could be viewed as not having the money to splurge.

My parents did not discuss finances with us growing up (theirs or anyone else's), so I've kind of adopted the don't ask-don't tell rule with them as well. I'm sure they have a general idea of how we're doing, because they know what we both do for a living, but we don't talk about it.

My parents know only because my mom does our taxes she is an accoutant. My IL have no idea.

My salary is public knowledge (as a teacher) and my MIL is also a teacher so it's kind of obvious. DH works with his dad, so again, they pretty much know down to the penny.

They have an idea of what we earn. To be honest, I don't know what they make, though I don't think it's much more than we do. My mom has been at the same job for a long time so I think she does well. My dad lost his job 5 years ago and took a huge paycut when he went back. I think we make more then they do combined.

My in-laws know what we make. We go to the same accountant and often will stay in the room when each other is doing taxes.

We are proud of what we make, don't care if they know.

I think both sets of parents know about how much we bring in without specifics. If they ever asked though, I wouldn't have a problem telling them.

My mom knows how much I make but not dh - I have always discussed everything with her. I don't think dh's parents know except for that we are comfortable at the moment.
