Spinoff to what turns you off in a house
the last post was about Cleanliness, but what turns you off in someone home?
For me, it's deer heads, stuffed DEAD animals, and STUFFED ANIMALS. (you are excused if it belongs to your child or pet, but when I see one of THESE displayed, I cringe:) I dont cringe if it IS actually Valentines Day.
Also, SPOON COLLECTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

I know we have some Nascar fans here, but when we bought our condo the guy had a wall with a glass encasement FILLED with Nascar memoribilia...And he had installed floor and ceiling spotlights to show off his mini cars...

Aww, what about vermont teddy bears that look like a cow? I have one of those in my bedroom, not my living room of course.
I hate that giant fork and spoon, the one in the old Italian lady's kitchen (like my aunts). I also hate the spoon collection, which my IL's have. And I really don't like wallpaper, of any kind. But if its really nice, I can get over it.
I also don't like OCD things...when someone has the toilet paper/paper towel roll in the "under" instead of "over" position. I will switch it around if given the chance...

When people collect favors from weddings, christenings etc and display them. My MIL does this and drives me BATTY!
I also cringe at teh sight of dust on top of a ceiling fan.

These are so funny!
The favors are EXACTLY what I am talking about. And stuffed animals in the bedroom is OK, but not in the living room unless your 3 year old left it behind.

Any collections on display that have grown beyond a normal capacity...
My mom used to have a HUGE teaspoon collection! She had 2 racks on the walls FULL...just thinking about that apartment makes me feel claustrophobic.
No collections for me ever again.

I cringe at:
Stuffed animals
Plastic-covered couches or chairs
Contemporary furniture (my faves are leather sectionals with the puffy backs bonus if they are white or ivory, and formica wall units)
85 million wedding enlargements all over (is there no other day in your life worth displaying?)
Animal smells
Faux fireplaces (I don't get it?)

Oh, I forgot to add that I HATE those "paintings" of pastel colors that are like, splatterings I guess you can call them. They look like a home decorator that had his/her hayday in the 80s threw up.

DH has an entire room dedicated to this. We had to take out a rider on our homeowner's insurance for it. Those fuggers are expensive!

GET THIS...
My FIL asked for a picture framed of the Montauk Lighthouse. We got him one for Christmas last year. About a month ago I was in their bedroom and I saw it hanging. IT STILL HAD THE PLASTIC ON IT!!!

This was not in someone's home but their shop...A big azz Ratty OLD smelly disgusting Buffalo Head on the wall when you walk in I couldn't help myself,,I blurt out W T F is that thing doing here???? I can only imagine what his house is like

My Grandmother always has shell soap displayed in her bathroom . It's pretty funny.
ETA: I also can't stand seeing deer heads or stuffed dead animals. When we were in our apartment, the landlord had this tiny living room and there was a deer head on each wall. It was excessive and kind of creepy.
