Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
Mine was although I didnt think he would because he thought he would get squimish. He said it was amazing to see him actaully come into the world. Plus he encourged me more when I was getting so close to pushing DS completely out.

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
I found out that he was, my mom too. Originally, I had wanted them to stay near my head, holding my hand etc., but in the moment, I didn't know and didn't care who was where. My husband was fine, but he said he was worried about my mom, he said I should have seen her face.

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
He held my leg and after the birth when I was throwing up he was lifting me and changing the pads under me(I know TMI). But I have to say I have the most amazing DH. The nurse said in the 30 years she practiced he was the sweetest husband she had seen.

he was holding my leg..but he kept looking watching her come down. He actually said it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. He thought it would "open up"

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
Mine was so against being front and center and I was ******. But once again when it came time to push, he was there, looking and cheering me on, telling me "I see his head, come on push".... I was so amazed.
He is so extremely happy that he got to literally watch his son being born. And as far as the whole vagina thing he put it to me like this, "Watching him being born was such an amazing experience, it wasnt even like I was looking at vagina. It was just witnessing a miracle."
Please, my MIL was right there front and center staring at my Va Jay Jay, and she too explained it to me as not a vagina, but the miracle of birth. You totally tune the vagina part out.

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
I had told my DH to stay at my head, as my friend warned me her DH is still traumatized after almost 4 years!
But he ended up pretty much watching everything!

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
My DH was practically in my womb he was so close. He spared no detail either, when informing me of what was going on "down there".

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
He started by my side - holding legs and offering me water (in other words, getting on my nerves ) anyway, the nurses took over because they had to rush Hannah out and he moved front and center!

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
Mine was. He was at my head during the begining of the c-section but he stood up too early and looked over the curtain and saw the dr moving my insides around and the dr told him to sit and he would let him know when to stand up again

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
honestly at the end...DH was in the middle of it, my sis was right there...hell the janitor coulda been taping that shiznet for youtube and I wouldn't have cared.
DH said it perfectly after months of SWEARING he HAD to stay near my head or he'd never be able to have sex with me again. He said it takes on this feeling...like amazing feeling that this is the birth of your child. you are so zoned on this experience, nothing matters...nothing. The tears in his eyes were the witness he had in watching Bella be born...

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
DW had C's for both DC, and even though I am fine with blood, and even seeing my own insides, I couldn't watch DW getting sliced open.... I was right by her head the whole time, holding her hand, and giving her updates.

Front and center ... vividly describing how the Doctor did the episiotomy as well as everything else. He was also in for #2 ... c/s ... and felt the need to describe that as well.

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
He was holding my leg when I was pushing for 3 hours.
Then when I ended up with a C-Section, he watched the entire thing. They knew he was a paramedic so the doctor was giving him a play by play.

My husband watched the whole c/s when Patrick was born. And when Fiona & Saoirse were born the nurse kept telling him to stop looking.

Re: Spinoff--whose DH was "front and center" for the birth?!
Mine was one of those "I'll be up by your head" during the whole PG. Fast forward to 10cm and the nurse is like OK grab a leg. After questioning whether this is something we pay them for, he got into position and I guess curiosity got the best of him bc all of a sudden I hear "I can see his head!" and then a play by play. i was shocked he was so into it after swearing he would not want to go there.
