Re: Spirit Airlines..

I flew spirit all the way to puerto rico.

Flight was cheap, smooth, and easy. No complaints whatsoever!

Re: Spirit Airlines..

Do you know who their "parent co" is or are they like a "jet blue"?

Re: Spirit Airlines..

We have flown with them a few times in the past.

Don't know if they still do it - but you can upgrade to their "spirit plus" which is like business class for about $20-40 pp when you get to the counter - we got such a great original rate with them that the extra money was still less than other airlines.

Generally we had no more complaints than you would with any airline.

We would fly them again for the right price.

Re: Spirit Airlines..

we took it to Detroit last year. On the Detroit side they were pretty behind the times as far as e-tickets are concerned. But it was so funny, when flying to Detroit and back on an inexpensive airline made for interesting passengers. We counted 7 pimps going and 3-4 coming home. They were decked out in fur with hats and rings, sunglasses....we thought we were in a music videoChat Icon

ETA: we also used them flying down to Orlando out of LGA....I don't know if it was them or LGA, but we spend 2.5 hours on the runway and the weather was perfect. We almost missed our cruise.

We flew them to Florida at the end of '03. I'd use them again- it's no frills but the plane was clean and as comfortable as a plane gets, and both flights were on time.

Re: Spirit Airlines..

I used them once to CA and wouldn't again. IMO, the service on the flight was awful, and when I was coming home, I had a 4 hour layover and when I landed in the layover, city, somehow I realized that the counter person in CA didn't check my bags all the way to NY. I asked their customer reps to take care of it and they did nothing, so I had to go to baggage claim, pick up my bag, and check it in again.

Re: Spirit Airlines..

LOL at the pimp story!!!

I booked them from LGA to Myrtle Beach. If they didn't have $654 flight directly there I don't think we would have done it but I think it is better than flying SW to Raleigh Durham and driving 4 hours one way Myrtle Beach.

Im sorry about the not checking of baggage but we don't have a layover so hopefully it will be an uneventful 2 hour flight!

Re: Spirit Airlines..

What was the problem???

My only gripe so far is that Jeremy is 13 months and he is going to be a lap child and they want his ORIGINAL birth certificate... not a copy. I don't like taking his birth certificate anywhere...
