For c-section girls, did your SO watch the surgery over the curtain. At one point I remember the Dr saying to DH that they were going to take the baby out & he could watch & surprisingly...he did!
Did anyone else's DH watch or did they hide behind the curtain?
Yes, xact same scenario.
After DD was wighed and cleaned, the Dr. put her inDH's arms and sent him to siy outside and bond while they closed me up.

Leo was peeking and told me that the baby was out.
I asked if it was a boy...
Dr corrected Leo and said baby is not out yet.
Leo tells me "oh, must have been your liver or something...there are things laying all over the place"
great bedside manor.

I was with DW during both Cs, but I didn't look. If it was anyone else besides DW, I would have no problem watching. I don't get freaked out by blood and gore, but I had no desire to see DW's insides.
ETA: on the other hand, I wish I was able to watch my appendectomy and elbow surgeries. I would have no problem watching my own insides (as long as I was heavily medicated....   )

When they asked if he wanted to watch, I answered for DH -- "NO, he does NOT!"
I already was having an emergency C-section 8 weeks early -- the LAST thing I needed was a DH with a concussion! (I have no doubt the dope would've said yes, taken one look, and passed out COLD... no doubt!)

I had an emergency c-section and I was in the room and cut open before DH even got his scrubs on. Of course, the door was on the side of the room with my feet and the baby was already out, so when he walked in, he got a full shot of my insides and them pushing things around as he walked over toward my head and they told him to sit down immediately LOL

/when the dr said, ok daddy do you want to see your baby born? dh stoop up to look, but he was like, what am i looking at? Then her little head popped out, then the rest of her.
he wanted to be the one to tell me it's a girl, but was speechless.  it was very sweet.

DH didn't watch. In fact, when he went to see DS (after he was cleaned up), he accidentally caught a glimpse and was traumatized over it.

He peeked...he told me he saw all my insides (out) & he didn't seem bothered by it.
He also said what he remembers most is the smell in the room....(YUCK)

He watched everything. He is a paramedic and has seen enough stuff to last a lifetime- I don't think our son being born was that bad for him. He was giving me a play by play.
Then I ran into a complication after the baby came out, they cut something they weren't supposed to, so he was talking with the doctors about it and watching (it was over my head, medical speakwise and I was out of it)
