Spotting at a little over 5 weeks, this is normal right?
Hi Ladies, i am a little over 5 weeks. This was my 4th ivf and I had my second beta yesterday which was over 9,089. I've had a little brown spotting since the weekend off and on. I asked the re if this was normal and they said progesterone can irritate the cervix. I take 200mg four times a day so i guess that makes sense, right? I am just nervous bc I had a missed miscarriage last September at 10 weeks. I guess I am just looking to see if this has happened to anyone else bc i didn't spot the last time from the progesterone. I am taking comfort in yesterdays high beta but i dont go back until next Wed. Thanks!!

id would ask for them to change your appointment some time this week...
spotting is extremely common... but it was a bad sign for me so i would never let spotting go without getting checked out asap...

It can be due to many different things. Not always a reason to panic, but better to call your OB and discuss with them just to be sure.
Hang in there!

Re: Spotting at a little over 5 weeks, this is normal right?
I had spotting at 5 and a half weeks, and my OB told me that that's the time when the embryo burrows itself further into your lining. It's a second implantation bleeding.
It's so scary to see blood, I know. I had spotting 3 times, several weeks apart, and bright red blood at 14 weeks. But the OB always told me that unless it was enough to fill a sanitary pad and / or accompanied by cramps worse than period cramps, that I was ok.

This is what I was told as well but if you feel uncomfortable, then CALL!

Thanks everyone! I will wait to see how it goes tonight. So far it has pretty much stopped. Seems to happen after i use the progesterone. I have no crampung so if starts up again tomorrow i am going to call. They didnt seem concerned and it only happens a few times on the tp so hopefully it will stop. Thanks!!

If you're doing vaginal Progesterone a side effect of it is some bleeding.....BUT I also had this w/Skittle( I did the vag prof as well) and thought nothing of it. Just a few drops, you had to really strain to see anything yada yada. My DH called the doc and they sent me to the ER. It didn't end well. IMHO ANY bleeding is cause to call.....ANY.

I am also on vag. progesterone supp. and had some very light bleeding between 5 and 6 weeks. I go to the RE weekly still and everything is fine and I am 7w3d now. It def. made me feel better to go to the doc.

i had brown spotting around 7 weeks and light pink at 9.5... both times i was told it could be something or it could be nothing. lucky for me it was nothing but you should definitely see your doctor to make yourself feel better!

Re: Spotting at a little over 5 weeks, this is normal right?
I had spotting / bleeding the entire pregnancy so far and amazingly my babies are doing good. It is SO stressful, especially after a loss (i know) Time will be your best friend in this The more time that passes, the bigger the babies, the more confident you will become. I would just request sonos every week, to give you piece of mind.
