SPR - need a pep talk (school related)
I finished all of my classes for my masters 2 years ago but I have yet to do my "capstone project" which is like a thesis. I had 2 failed attempts. The first time, I had to start over after someone published an almost exact paper to what I was researching. The second time, I picked a topic with not enough information out there and then the twins were born and I gave up. Well, now its crunch time. I have to get it done this fall semester. I was speaking to the graduate program coordinator and she said many students have had difficulties completing this final project, so they have a new professor in charge of the projects and a new format/new requirements. From what I have seen so far it is going to be a lot better. It is now a 25 page critical review article on a subject with controversy in the cosmetic industry or dermatological science. The only thing that sucks is an oral presentation. But anyway, I really have to get this done and it is going to be impossible for me to concentrate with these 3 crazy kids around. i am going to have to find childcare for at least one day a week for them so I can work and still I am worried about not having enough time. I can easily have family watch them here while I go downstairs but I know I will still be distracted being in the same house. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my grandma/aunt alone with all 3 if I chose to leave the house. Does anyone know a babysitter in the smithtown area who could handle a 3 yr old and 1 yr old twins?

I couldnt do all three, but if you need time on the weekends and you are OK with leaving the twins with your Aunt or Grandma - I can certainly take Landon for the day and he can have a play date with Eddie if you need too.
I can also ask my brothers girlfriend - she is 27 and is a waitress so has a lot of time in the day. She is awesome with Eddie and has a bunch of nieces and nephews of her own and is really good with kids.

I dont know any sitters at this time but will keep an ear out.
However anytime that little 3yo wants to come over, Chris would be happy to have the playmate.... The boys all played so nice the other day it would be great!
And GO YOU!!!

I would highly recommend not trying to do work while the kids are at home. I think it would be very difficult to concentrate.
Good luck! You can do it!

I can't help w/the childcare part, but wanted to say YOU CAN DO IT!
Most likely it won't be easy, but anything worth it isn't easy, right? Most of all, good luck and have faith!

No advice on babysitters but I wanted to offer support. You can do it! Just think of how relived and accomplished you'll feel when it's all over.

Julie, can Ray watch them on the weekend? I used to force myself to write 10 pages a day...It really isn't too bad! 10 pages a day, a PowerPoint, and you're all set! That's nothing compared to what you've done so far!
