SPR: Thermal drapes for DD's room

I've posted about this before, that DD;s room is the coldest in the house, since it's over the garage...I'm thinking of putting thermal drapes in her room..do they really work or is it BS?

I think they work if you have drafty windows...not sure if they would work in your situation. You could insulate the garage ceiling....

we were thinking of doing that, but wanted to cover all bases, even though the windows are new, I feel lke they couldn't hurt if they actually worked...

Re: SPR: Thermal drapes for DD's room

We got them for DS's room, and for our own room, and they have made a huge difference. DS's room is also hard wood floors, and we got a large (10' by 13') area rug which also made it warmer.

For our room we got Eclipse long drapes from JCPenney, and for DS we got long microsuede navy drapes from Walmart.

Here are DS's:

I like his much better than the ones we got at JCPenney for our room. I love the look of the suede, and it falls better than the material ones we have.

At Walmart they are $40 for a pair (he needed 2 pairs with two windows in his room), and they were I think $25 or 30 per panel at JCPenney, so $50 or 60 a pair.
