St. Vincent and Evacuations....how does this make you feel?
They are using cruise ships to evacuate the island....only if you are vaccinated!! How is this allowed in today’s world???? I didn’t believe it when I saw it, I thought no way would this happen today. Sure enough it’s true. Get ready America 
“ The pandemic is complicating evacuation efforts because the cruise lines will require people boarding the ships to be vaccinated, as will the nearby islands where the evacuees will be taken”
Nothing about negative tests....just need your good old papers showing you have an experimental vaccine. You could have the vaccine and currently have Covid and that’s fine.

Wait what?
How is that even fair? Many haven't even been able to get the vaccine due to not being able to get an appt yet.
I know many people who want it and are still struggling for an appt.
Some states are still only vaccinating people over a certain age.
It hasn't been available and offered long enough for the majority of people to have gotten it yet
So basically you should be left to die on an island because of that?
If this is true it's unconscionable.

That is just f’in ridiculous. Sorry but natural disasters cannot stop in the age of a pandemic Everyone that needs to be saved on that island should be saved. Not be told “well sorry you’re not vaccinated so you’re going to be left here to die”. The world has gone absolutely mad.

The Prime Minister said he will not allow anyone on the cruise ships that are not vaccinated. Carnival is just doing a PR move so not to look like the "bad guy" but they will not be getting anyone on their ships that are not vaccinated.
Royal and Celebrity are requiring vaccinations. The islands they are relocating too are also requiring vaccinations.
I think it's disgusting and they should be making provisions to get them all off the island. In the scheme of things, they do not have many people on those islands so we (US and other countries) should be sending them the vaccines and setting up appropriate shelter on neighboring islands to quarantine them.

Can you imagine the Titanic...people in the water....the ship finally arrives to pull out any survivors...and only takes the ones who have been vaccinated are allowed to board. The others can freeze and drown.
All over a virus with an over 99% survival rate.
The world has gone mad and that seriously scares me more than Covid.
The psychosis it has caused. That is what's scary.
The utter lack of any common sense.

From the way the article is written, it doesn't look they are requiring vaccines.

Zero common sense left. Vaccinate those at risk and let everyone move on. With the small percentage of vaccinated people in Suffolk county we had ONE death yesterday.

Like others said, I only see this on two right wingnut websites.
However, even if you took them at face value, even they just say that the PM says this is not his decision. He implied that it was neighboring governments that aren't allowing them.
I do not agree with that at all if it's true but it doesn't appear to be. It is "he said she said" at this point and Goldenrod's more neutral article indicates otherwise anyway.

I guess we can cherry pick what we believe each day. Imagine being in their situation and the SAFEST thing to do to GUARANTEE your family survives is to leave the island and you are told you can’t because you didn’t or can’t get a vaccine. But I guess we choose to bury our heads in the sand when it doesn’t fit our narrative. Let’s hope and pray we don’t see this in America

You totally missed my point. I said (in different words) that if true it's abhorrent but I wanted verification because the first sources I found were not credible. And now I know why. Your information appears to be outdated. Multiple articles are stating the islands are testing and isolating people, which implies they are not in fact requiring vaccines.
This is nothing more than speculation on my part, but I suppose some entity - a cruise line, island, etc - intended to implement that restriction, the PM stated it in the press conference, and then they had to reverse course due to (justifiable) pushback.
Again, if it's happening it's an outrage. This is a life or death emergency. And if an island REALLY was doing this I would want to know so I know not to give them my money in the future.

If it is the third class passenger stories, many of those are myths as they are portrayed in movies.

The cruises lines are ok with them not being vaccinated. The health dept there are the ones saying they need to be.

Totally agree. Kids can’t be vaccinated so this is all ridiculous and the way people are acting like they are safe now with it makes me shake my head.
