starbucks question
in general I'm not a Starbucks coffee person.
I tried it two times this past week, my cousin sends me gift cards ( torture LOL )for my B-Day.
usually get a basic cup of decaf, nothing special. I add basic sugar and milk, boring... I asked for a few squirts of a flavored syrup for some excitement , one store didn't charge and another told me it's .60 extra.
is it normally a charge? is it .60 a squirt? are added shots an extra cost? how much?
plus, why is the already made decaf one cost and the cafe americano, better tasting in my opinion more $$

From google, yes:
Tall lattes come with one shot of espresso, grande espresso drinks come with two, and venti drinks come with two (hot) or three (iced). If it's just one of those days and you need an extra boost of caffeine, you can add another shot to any drink for 60 cents.Jan 23, 2018

Cafe Americano is espresso, not regular coffee.
IMO, you dont goto Starbucks for coffee. You go for the floofy specialty drinks. A flavored latte, macchiato, etc. The coffee is bleh, but when they put all the components together it's much better than what people can do at home.

Yes this. If you just want plain coffee, McD's coffee is actually really good and cheap.

starbucks question
Extra shots of espresso are but not sure about the flavor shots. Americano, if I am not mistaken is water mixed with espresso, therefore making it cost more.

it's a scam!!!!
i really do dislike that place. my sympathies that your loved one keeps sending you the gift cards. i would regift them, if i can. 
since i rarely ever go to one, i have no idea how to even order a coffee from them lol.
if i must go to one, i always get tea. oh, and their egg bites are yummy.

This. Almost all of the time they burn their regular coffee, in every location, so it's not good. At my former job we had our own Starbucks kiosk and I have to say the regular coffee was actually pretty damn good, but it was because it was made properly. But that was the only place I have had a good cup of regular coffee at Starbucks. Otherwise, I'm there for the Pumpkin Spice, Chestnut and Gingerbread Lattes, filled with syrup and whipped cream and whatever else they want to mix in!

Use it for food. The cake pops are yummy as are a lot of the bakery items. They have delicious croissants. I love their almond croissants You can get oatmeal for breakfast too or sous vide egg bites if you are low carb
They even have sandwiches etc for lunch

Definitely use it for food.
They have this sugarplum croissant thing this time of year that I love.
Or sell it somehow. People who are going there anyway are happy to buy even slightly discounted giftcards.

It's .60 cents for any quantity for a type of squirt. So .60 cents for one pump or six pumps. If you want a pump of vanilla and a pump of mocha. That's $1.20.
Shots of espresso are also extra. Not sure how much, maybe a dollar extra per shot?
A decaf is drip coffee which is premade. An americano is espresso plus hot water. Americanos are more money because the espresso shots are pulled fresh.

lol, since she lives mid west, the only stores we have in common, target and Starbucks. So, my GC come from her are usually starbucks.
Like Nell said I do like Mcdoalds coffee too, just not much of a specialty person. In general GC for me are tourture. I have a $75.00 GC never touched for 7 years....

yes burnt agree. event the worker told me the coffee is bitter to add some shots of flavored syrup

starbucks question
I hate their regular coffee. I dont know what itnisnit brb has this bitter taste. I dont go too often but when I do I get a white chocolate mocha or a chai tea latte. They are good with the specialty drinks but their coffee is disgraceful
