Re: Started cereal today...lots of questions!
I'd do it once a day for now. You don't want her eating too much cereal and not enough formula or BM. If you find that she's finishing that whole amount that you're making, make more. She'll stop eating when she's full. When is your next ped. appointment? I think at 4 months we were doing cereal at one feeding and veggies at another. I can't remember exactly.

Re: Started cereal today...lots of questions!
Honestly, if she liked it that way, I would continue giving it to her that way.
And don't concern yourself over the overfeeding. She will let you know when she is full!
Congrats on your/her milestone!!!!!!!!!
ETA: At her 4 month appt, K's ped told me to do her cereal 2x a day morning and evening, and to give her a half a jar of fruit or veggie afterward. She has us do the stage 2 jars, so that's why a half a jar.

Re: Started cereal today...lots of questions!
i gave 1 tablespoon to 2 oz of formula. Any more formula and it was too soupy for my DS. I did that for a week. Then i moved up to 2 tablespoons of cereal. I did that for a few days then started giving it for breakfast and dinner. And did that for a little while (while trying the other cereals) Once i tried all the cereals it was our next appt with the ped and he said start fruit

Re: Started cereal today...lots of questions!
Don't worry - we have all been there. Give her the cereal, like you did (eventally you will start to make it thicker). But still give her the same amt of formula in the bottle as you did before. If she isn't hungry, she won't eat it. But for now all her nutrients are pretty much still coming from the bottle. Plus as she gets older and bigger, she will need more food, not less.
Good luck. Glad to hear the first time was such a success!
