Started my maternity leave today
And I'm glad I did. I feel like I can hardly move. I'm 38 weeks as of tomorrow. Right now it looks like I'll be induced on May 4. In some ways the sooner the better so the intensity of my discomfort can subside... yet, I am so not ready to have a baby - it's really not funny...
Baby's room - not done Laundry for baby - not done Bag for hospital - not packed Items from my registry we didnt get - not purchased yet. Items that were purchased as gifts for my shower - still at my mom's house
How bad am I? Worst part is - I have NO desire to do any of this...

Re: Started my maternity leave today
maybe once you have a few days to rest now that you're on maternity, you'll slowly want to do some of these things. But if you don't , it's ok! They will get done and you will be ready for baby when the time comes !

Re: Started my maternity leave today
I still have the same things to do - except MOST of the laundry is done. I am jealous that you started your maternity leave though!!!

Re: Started my maternity leave today
awww..sounds like you might still be stuck in that rut and cant seem to shake it..maybe the maternity leave shall make things a little brighter! Now you can get a few things in order and have someone help you wash DC's clothes and help you get these things in order for you. I know I am stubborn and dont like asking for help.. but sometimes you just have to when you dont have the energy, motivation or even desire to do it. Im sure you could round up a family/friend to help you! Its not easy..i have a crib put together with no mattress..no storage for this baby, not a dresser, nothing and im 33 weeks as of this saturday... and I dont see this happening anytime soon. My luck, ill be in labor and someone will have to run to go buy everything before we make it home from the hospital.

Re: Started my maternity leave today
Take a day or two to relax and once you have a little rest I'm sure you will get in the mode. Good Luck

Re: Started my maternity leave today
I'm sorry that you are feeling so uncomfortable. Like the other ladies mentioned, maybe when you can sit and relax for a few days, you may get some energy to do a few things on your list. Definitely enlist the help of family or friends. You will get it done...don't stress.

Re: Started my maternity leave today
I have to say - Day 2 of maternity leave has been much better...
I cleaned the windows in DC's room, I cleaned the inside of the drawers of the new dresser and the drawer on the bottom of the crib. I opened up the Diaper Genie and put the "floppy" seat in the dresser (left it in the plastic since I don't think we'll need it for a few months). I cut the tags off the clothes I have here and took the changing pad covers out of the plastic and I have some of the baby clothes in the wash right now.
I spoke with my mom and I'll head out that way this weekend... then her and I may go shopping on Monday to buy the other necessities that we didn't get at the shower (I have not one single bottle). I was thinking of going to BBB tonight with my coupon and buying the crib tent (my siamese kitty figured out how to leap into the crib and now she's obsessed with it). So I think I made a little progress?
Ah time to put the baby clothes in the dryer - so wierd not to use a dryer sheet! Dreft smells nice too! I may even wash my clothes in it
What items must I absolutely have on hand? Money's a little tight right now - so if there are things we can wait on, that's great. I plan on BFing, but feel I should have a few bottles on hand just in case. Would you use "free" formula? I keep getting formula in the mail and I got several bottles of the liquid kind from my Lamaze class. I'm always afraid stuff is contaminated (can we say paranoid ).
