starting foods question
so we just recently started introducing foods to kaylie....we did rice cereal first and that was fine bc she is on enfamil ar which has a rice cereal base to it but today was the first time for barley.....each time i do this i get myself all worked up and nervous that shes going to be allergic.....i have to stop this bc we still have oatmeal and all the fruits and veggies left anyone else scared every time you give dc a new food to try/test for allergies?

Re: starting foods question
are you and DH allergic to anything???. I think that might make your dc more prone to allergies. Oatmeal made my little one constipated, and now i am on barley and he seems to like it a lot. next week i am going to start yams and see how it goes, then avocado/banannas apples and pears. i think its recomended that you wait a couple days before starting something new and to feed it to them in the morning vs at nigth. . Do we continue to feed the cereals with all the fruits and veggies we try???

Re: starting foods question
i just tried oatmeal for the first time last week and was nervous too. I think im going to introduce all new foods in the morning, this way i have all day to call the ped if there is a reaction.
What scedule did you doctor say to follow. Mine said do cereal for 4 days and then introduce 1 vegetable for 4 days before you try a new one..then go to fruits. When they are 5 months do cereal and 2 jars (even though they prob wont eat the whole jar)
