Starting solids. Tell me some tricks for not messing up his clothes.
I bet some of you can give me some tips on how not to get food on the baby's clothes. We are feeding him baby food now. It's fun!!! We use a terrycloth bib with a plastic bib OVER it. He still dribbles and whatever gets on his neck eventually ends up on his clothes and onesie. I am soaking some clothes right now because there are carrots on them. Now it is one more time each day that we have to change him. We go through lots of clothes.

I just use a bib, she seems to be doing okay with not getting any on her cloths, for mine thats a different storie.. she sneezes and im covered.
You can keep a burp cloth on the side and wipe him occasionally. I do that also.

Keep the baby naked! That is the ONLY way I have found to keep the clothes clean

When my DS eats cereal I just use a bib. When eats his veggies I have been putting a Scott Towel over his bib. He has been eating solids for a month now and he is getting less sloppy.

We've done that on occasion. Just a diaper. Then, right after dinner, straight into the tub. This is especially good when they start to learn to use utensils on their own...

Don't ask me - Cailen wipes his sleeves on his mouth, puts his fingers in his motuh and smears it on everything - we are very messy during meal time!!!

I love the Bumkins bibs. They are the only plastic bibs that I've found with an adjustable velcro neck, so I can get pretty "tight" around DD's neck (and hence, no spillage down her neck!).

Good Q Kerie...in the beginning she was getting food on everything. We too used a terrycloth bib & then the big plastic ones over it, but it always somehow managed to get under by her neck.

Re: Starting solids. Tell me some tricks for not messing up his clothes.
My mom actually picked up disposable bibs from Family Dollar and I think they work GREAT! They have adhesive strips to hold it to the baby's shirt in front and in the back of the next, they also have a little pocket at the bottom and somewhat of a waterproof backing.
I started to use them once I realized that the sweet potatoes that DD loves to much stain EVERYTHING!!
