Isn't it obvious?

Starting to worry about my sleeping position...

Since my hands have been going numb for the past few weeks, I have been sleeping on the couch (where I am most comfortable). I can't sleep on my left side because my hands go completely numb and hurt, so I sleep on my back... not lying flat, but not sitting completely straight up, sort of on a slight slope.

Should I be worried I'm not sleeping in the best postion for the baby, even though I'm not flat on my back???

Chelle, I know you are further along than me...but with all of this pain I have been having, I called the office...they said unless you are uncomfortable, then sleep how you can sleep....until you are in the 3rd trimester....I have found now that my right side is most comfortable.....call just to make sure....Chat Icon

I would love to say that I sleep on my left side...but I don't. I simply can't fall asleep or relax that way. I sleep on my back and that's that. I have to sleep...not resting and waking up with numb limbs was killing me with trying to work 40+ hours a week and take care of a 5 year old. Even if I manage to fall asleep on my side, I wake up on my back. You are at least NOT lying flat on your back...that's probably a lot better than how I am sleeping.Chat Icon

Honestly, my doctor said to not worry about the way you are sleeping and just sleep!

My dr. said to sleep however I can get comfortable. Sometimes I sleep on my back, sometimes on my side. Don't worry about it!

I fall asleep on my left side but sometimes will wake up on my back... I wouldnt worry about it too much if you are sleeping with your back elevated...

I wouldn't worry. I slept on my back with my first, and with this one, I am still sleeping on my stomach.Chat Icon

I am awoken every night by the numb hands thing -- it was pretty bad this morning! No matter how I sleep.. Chat Icon
