Re: Staten Island schools
My brother, and my niece and nephew attend Tottenville SD. From what I hear, it is the best.

Re: Staten Island schools
I'm not sure how the districts break down these days. When I lived on SI, it was all District 31, with a great deal of variation in school quality.
I am more familiar with the south shore schools, where I grew up and where my sister and family now live. Some good elementary schools include P.S. 32, P.S. 42, P.S. 8, & P.S. 4 (there are lots more, but those are the ones I'm familiar with). Good Junior high schools include I.S. 75 & I.S. 7. My nephew is going to be going to a lottery-based junior high called the Exhibition School, which is supposed to be excellent. Decent high schools include Tottenville and Susan E. Wagner.
As far as good neighborhoods that have children attending these schools, they include: Great Kills, Eltingville, Annadale, Hugenot, Arden Heights, & Tottenville.
