lol would probably take too long to explain in a way that makes sense. here's the short senseless version:
bear = one of our cats that is evil and can be very feisty.
me = an obsessive cat lady that can be very feisty.
and voila! bearcat.

also Egg is one of my fave characters in John Irving's Hotel New Hampshire
