Stony Brook Girls...
I have some questions: I am debating not going on the hospital tour (I have no time, and I'm afraid of elevators...I know I'm crazy). Anyway, did anyone go on the tour and are you willing to share what you saw/learned with your scared Prego friend Due in April?!?! THANKS!!!

i went with dd back in 2007, so im sure it has changed since they have the new wing..but really from what i remember they show you the labor and delivery room, how it is set up for you and hte baby, and gave me the admittance papers to fill out ahead of time..i really dont remember anything else but that ..hth

ETA: I definitely don't think you NEED to go on the tour, but it would be nice to see the rooms, etc.

I was going to go for a tour but ended up not going becasue I had to go to L7D two weeks before to meet with the anesthesiologist. DH was not too keen on going either so we're just going to wing it when the time comes.

We went on the tour this past weekend...took about an hour. Started off in L & D and they just show you the room and all the machines etc. and what happens to the baby after born. You are allowed to have 2 coaches in the room with you, but no visitors and the coaches cannot switch off with other family members, it has to be the same 2 the whole time.
Visiting hours are 2-8:30 so if you have the baby at like midnight and you have a lot of family members at the hospital waiting, they won't let them in to see the baby, only during visiting hours.
