Stony Brook OBGYN and test results

Good Morning -

Is anyone a patient at Stony Brook OBGYN and can tell me their procedure regarding blood test results?

I had my first blood draw last Wednesday at Sunrise Labs and I haven't heard anything yet. I tried calling the office today to check the status and the receptionist took my info and said she would look into it.

I am supposed to hear back right? Or do they just go over everything at the following appointment?

I was there last Tuesday and did the bloodwork and have heard nothing. I think they don't call if nothing's wrong. When I failed the 1 hour last time they called right away, I took the test Saturday and they called Monday morning. I think I remember calling after the first appointment and they said everything was fine and they'd go over it next time. But by all means, call. You actually inspired me to call tomorrow, now that you have me thinking about it!

I used them during my twin pregnancy and unfortunately had a lot of issues with them not returning my calls. Try talking to your doctor about it if it becomes more of an issue

In my experience Unless there was an issue you go over it at the next appointment ... Any abnormal results I got a call quickly , normal was just all was well at monthly/weekly whatever appt

They called me 3 times yesterday afternoon all in a row and each time there was no one there and they just hung up. I called them back saying I think someone was trying to reach me and they just transferred me to their nurse line and I had to leave a message.

I have some blood clotting disorder and the results of some of the blood work they did determine whether or not I have to see a high risk obgyn, so I would of hoped they would have contacted me as soon as they got my results. I am kinda annoyed.

They seem to be on the "If they don't call there isn't an issue" train. Which is annoying, I had a blood test (I forget what for, It might have been for the NT Scan blood test) and they didn't call, so I called them and I definitely got the impression they were annoyed that I called.

I called three days in a row and finally got a nurse to call me back. I have to consult with a high-risk OBGYN regarding a blood clotting issue. I am happy I annoyed them by calling because I probably would not have found out until my next appointment.

I think the receptionists are really rude there. I've tried calling to speak to a doctor and she made it seem like I was annoying her. I never received a call back from my doctor and left 2 messages for her. When I called the other day for my blood results I got transferred to the nurses line where I had to leave a message and shockingly received a call back within 15 minutes. I really like my doctor and the place but they are not good with returning calls at all.
