Store Brand Formula Question
Have you tried it? Any differences noticed with your DC?
Emerson has been on Enfamil LIPIL since she was a week old and has NEVER had one problem. (She is now 7 1/2 months) I saw the Target brand today and it looks like it's EXACTLY the same as the Enfamil LIPIL and instead of $25/can it's only $11.69/can. HUGE savings!!! I am just hesitant to try it. What do you guys think?

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
I bought a can of the Target brand yesterday! I stood there and compared, it looks exactly the same as Enfamil Lipil, which we've been supplementing DD with since birth. Now the Target formula is just sitting there and I am reluctant to try it, I don't know why

That's how I feel!! Everything in me says to try it, it's the same thing, it's way cheaper BUT there is this little voice telling me to stick with the Enfamil. I don't know why....I am probably being silly. I should save myself the money and go Target brand.

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
We use the Target brand, and before that the Walmart brand. No problems. Its exactly the same. Baby formula is regulated by the FDA.

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
I used target's brand for similac sensitive. DD had no problems with it. My only regret is that we didn't switch over sooner because it was so much cheaper!

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
DS has a formula issue and is on Alimentum right now, but before that came about I tried him on the Target brand. It gave him really nasty nasty poos. Not diarrhea, but it was pretty bad I switched him back to the similac. If I get a go ahead to put him on soy though, which is what I really, really want, I would probably try the Target or Wal-mart brand though.

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
We use the Target brand or the Sam's Club brand. I asked the ped. about it and he said all Formula has to be approved under the standards by the FDA. When you buy the name brand, you are only paying for the name.

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
It is the same stuff!
If it makes you feel better about switching, do it gradually. At first, do a few scoops of the name brand stuff and then 1 scoop of store brand. Keep increasing the store brand in the bottle until you are 100% store brand formula. PLus, it will help you use up all your name brand before you swtich totally

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
i used it in the beginning and really saw no big deal.
But then AJ's poop was getting harder and harder. I stumbled on a fantastic deal for Enfamil again and bought a WHOLE bunch since it was the same price as generic (not available anymore) and her poop improved.
I've stuck with brand name since. But I am thinking of going back to generic for her last few months. Now that I can better moderate her prune juice intake and I KNOW what she's like when she's constipated I think I can better control it.
*shrug*
But really it was the same thing.

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
I started using the target brand when DS was 3 months old. I was sooo nervous to switch. He had no issues at all. It's less than 1/2 the price of enfamil...Go for it!!

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
They're pretty much the same thing. If you try and and your child doesn't like it or it disagrees with them you would know that day, so its definitly worth trying for 1 day.

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
it's totally the same. DS went from Enfamil Gentlease to the Target brand and now he is on regular BJs brand (which is like the "plain" Enfamil Lipil). he has had no problems on any of them. good luck! the savings are AMAZING!

Re: Store Brand Formula Question
DS is on Gentlease. Once we're done with our BRU credit (about 2 mos) we're switching to Sams Club/Walmart "Gentle" formula.
