Stovetop Question-Cleaning help
I have a SS stove, but the top of the burners is black. Although I am EXTREMELY careful when cooking, we all know that SOMETIMES things do splash! I'm finding that as time goes by, it's becoming harder to clean. Does anyone have any tips for cleaning the black top to the stove? Thanks!

Re: Stovetop Question-Cleaning help
I just asked my mil this- she said that she uses easy-off oven cleaner- its made for the inside- but she said its the only thing that cuts through the grease
havent tried it yet- but my mil is a cleaning fanatic- so I trust her lol

Re: Stovetop Question-Cleaning help
Do not use the Magic Eraser! It will take the shine away! The surface will look dull.
Mix comet with a little bit of water to make a paste. Then take steel wool and scrub scrub SCRUB! I used a baby wipe wrapped around the edge of a butter knife and SCRAPED with the comet paste until everything came off.
Works like a charm, but its time consuming.

Re: Stovetop Question-Cleaning help
Do you mean you have a glass cook top ? If yes, then buy the cleaner made for it. I use it and have seen it at Pathmark, Stop & Shop, the dollar store, wal-mart. About $5.00 per bottle and it lasts forever ! Wegmans brand I think..

Re: Stovetop Question-Cleaning help
If you have a glass top cook top you can use Bon-Ami.
Much cheaper than the glass top cleaners they sell, it's non-toxic (no fumes), doesn't scratch and you can use it on all glass, including your shower doors.

Re: Stovetop Question-Cleaning help
It's not a glass top. It has the burners. It's a black, shiny color though. I am afraid to mess up the finish!
