Strawberry picking ...Is now the right time for this??
I screw this up every year  Is this when strawberry picking happens ?
And if so, where are some good places ?

I would love to know too, I just said to DH the other day that we should do something like this and he said he thinks we missed fruit picking season  I hope he's wrong!

I usually go to Lewin in Calverton....
According to Lewin's website, strawberrys are the end of May through June. I know they just opened yesterday. However, they do not have any You Pick open at the moment. You can check their site (lewinfarm.com) for updates.

I'm down South so obviously it's a little different, but it's been strawberry picking season for a few weeks here already now. There are a few types of strawberry that can be grown a little earlier, but right now is prime time. I live down the block from a berry farm and boy is it delicious! I must go there twice a week (I buy the already-picked ones, though... DD is too young for us to PYO right now).

Berries in Lancaster County can be purchased right now!!! Went past a roadside stand today, and saw a sign. But I think it depends on the variety. Ours aren't ready yet. Mary

we go to harbes family farm in mattituck.. we LOVE it there... so much for little kiddies to do at the farm across the street and they have a whole bunch of different pick your own fruits and vegetables all year round...
Yes strawberries are in June but i'd call the farms now to see when they might be able to predict the best time.. It may be early June...

I have actually never been bc every year we have something to do that weekend :( But I have heard it is a great time and I am going to try to do this on Friday night.
