Having a hard time picking God Parents

I am having the hardest time trying to pick DS's God Parents. Originally it was going to be family members. My brother and our cousin. Then my brother has started to really disappoint me with things lately and I decided not to chose him. We can't use hubby's brother because he has really bad medical issues. So that leaves him and his wife out. Now we don't know who to chose. Hubby has a very small family and they aren't really involved with us. I have a huge family and it is hard to pick two people. We have narrowed down the god mother to two people ,one family member, one not. But we have no idea who to pick for the god father. I didn't think it would be this hard...DS is going to be christened in June so we have a little time to pick. It is really killing me though.

I am a believer in Family for God Parents, especially for the 1st born. If it is possible. Short of some pretty MAJOR issues with a brother/sister, I would pick them. You may have issues "right now" and regret not picking them later. Or better yet cause a bigger life long issue by not picking them. JMHO

ETA: DH and I had one of the biggest fights of our marriage over picking a God Father for DD#2. He wanted his best friend(since 1st grade) and I wanted my Brother. It was a such a huge deal to me, I was ready to plan the whole thing without him . In the end, he saw the light and agreed with me

I feel your pain, we are struggling too. So much so that it is what has delayed us baptizing him. DS has almost no family and I don't know who to pick on my side (we are both only children). I know who i want to pick for god mother but don't have anyone for godfather (that is not part of a couple). I know we will pick a couple i'm not 100% satisfied with :(
