Stuffy nose--no other symptoms, in a 4 year old
Ds has been complaining he can't breathe since this morning. His nose is very stuffy, & that's all he has. What can I give him if anything? I have a humidifier for night use, but anything OTC? He'll be 5 in Oct. Thanks

Definitely try saline spray. That is what we use when DS and DD have a stuffy nose but no other symptoms.

the pedi always tells me NO decongestants in LO. Never. Maybe dehumidifier and some advil or tylenol at night so when she is laying down it isn't as terrible.

NONE?
wow.. crazy. My daughter would be in prepetual HELL if not for claritin and benedryl (generics).
I dont give it to her on time and try to stretch out time with her not on allergy meds but sometimes she just NEEDS it. I asked the doc this week (her 4yr visit) and she said she'd rather we gave her allergy meds every day forever than antibiotics due to sinus infection, inflamation, and other illnesses that can be spurred by bad sinus drainage.

I think you have a good point, My ds had runny nose and I let it go 3 times now. He has had 2 sinus infections and an ear infection. From now on he is getting Claritin or Benadryl right away. my inlaws swear the reason kids have so many infections now is bc we can't give them medicine !
