Successful VBAC
Awhile ago I posted a question VBAC vs repeat C. Many of you chimed in and I was grateful for all of your opinions. Well, I had my son last Sunday night and he came into this world through a successful VBAC. I started having pains at 3 A.M. but they were very sporadic. Some were 25 minutes apart and others were closer. I thought I was in false labor because my due date wasn't until August 30. These pains went on through the day but they didn't seem to be getting worse until about 2 P.M. when they started to get more consistent. I finally arrived at the hospital around 6 P.M. where I was already 5 cm dialated. The pains were getting much closer and more intense. By the time I got to the labor and delivery room I had opted for the epidural. They gave it to me but my goodness it did not take effect. They were going to administer it again but they checked and I was already 10 cm. I wound up doing about 5 sets of pushing and baby came out. He was born at 9:14 P.M. So it was only about 3 hours after getting to the hospital. Although the epidural didn't take affect and I essentially gave birth without the aid of drugs I was very glad that I did it naturally. The recovery was 100 times better and I feel like I bonded right away with him whereas with my first son who was born via C-section it took me awhile to bond. If anyone asks I recommend a VBAC. Thanks for reading. If you have any questions about it please ask me.

I had a VBAC in 2013 also and I agree that the bonding and recovery were so much better.
