VBAC do's and don'ts - How to increase my chances of being successful?
I am 39w1d and am trying for a VBAC. So far, my OB"s have been supportive in the sense that they have let me go this far even though my BP has been high but controlled with medication. All labs and 24 urines have come back fine. C-section scheduled for 40w4d.
I was induced with DS bc my BP went up at 35 weeks. I was 36w5d. It was a failed induction and I wound up with a c-section. Horrible experience and one I absolutely do not want to repeat.
I am of course hoping I go into labor on my own so I at least have a chance at a VBAC but I know that just going into labor is no guarantee that I will avoid a csection.
What steps can I take/interventions should I avoid to increase my chances of a successful VBAC? I really want this to work.

Ask them about using Evening Primrose Oil. Now. Because IF it works ... it's not an overnight sort of deal.

Evening primrose oil is not always a great option for vbac women, it can increase the risk of uterine rupture.
To the OP I am in the same boat. I am going for a vbac, but because of my circumstances of my prior c-section I have increase risk of uterine rupture, so I can't go very long past my due date. I am scheduled for this Thursday. Really all I have been doing is DTD, acupuncture, lots of walking, and old wives type things like egg plant parm, spicey food, etc. I also see a chiropractor to make sure my body and baby are in position for delivery, which they are, and I try to bounce on my yoga ball instead of lounging on the couch.
Good luck. I totally understand the desire and disappointment if you don't get the vbac. Like i said, I am going through the same thing.

I'm not sure if there's anything you can do
Hope for the best! Walk, have sex, eat spicy foods...lol
I had a VBAC- but I didn't do anything special. I went into labor on my own at 39 wks 4 days but I progressed VERY slowly.
Just wanted to wish you the best!!!
