Suggestions for healthy tuna salad
I would like to make tuna salad but I needs ideas on how to make it tasty and not loaded with calories. I can't eat tuna right out of the can, needs something in it. Any ideas or recipes? Thanks!

Re: Suggestions for healthy tuna salad
I buy the TJ Tuna (in water- not oil!). I mix it it a tablespoon of fat free mayo, a little honey mustard, onion, salt, and pepper.

Re: Suggestions for healthy tuna salad
Ooooh ooooh, We have the best recipe!
* 6 oz Canned Tuna In Oil * 1 tbsp Capers * 1/4 cup Onions * 54 g Lemon * 2 tbsp Olive Oil
Directions
Drain the canned tuna of excess oil and place in small mixing bowl. Mince your preferred variety of onion and the capers, and mix evenly in with the tuna. Add your lemon juice- (fresh squeezed or store bought, whatever you like) and then the olive oil. Distribute evenly.
This recipe is meant to be lower in fat, so olive oil is used more sparsely. You can always add more if the tuna seems too dry.

Re: Suggestions for healthy tuna salad
I mix it with hummus and lots of seasoning. Usually I use dill, cayenne, garlic, lemon pepper (not all at the same time!). Or hummus and finely chopped raw veggies (onion, celery, bell pepper, tomato). I know some people that use dijon mustard and like it a lot.

I usually mix 1 can of tuna in water with 1 tablespoon of reduced fat mayo, salt, pepper. If I need a little extra zing I add pickle relish

Re: Suggestions for healthy tuna salad
I made tuna the other day and my husband loved it. I made it with: 5 oz. solid white albacore tuna packed in water 2 tbsps. low fat mayo 1/2 cup carrots (roughly this amount) 1/2 cup celery (roughly this amount) 1/2 cup scallions (roughly this amount) 5 green olives cut up small some dill (to taste) salt pepper
This serves 2 so one serving is 3 points plus values.
