Summer Coming Home Outfit
Im due in july and Im just curious if the coming home outfit has to be long sleeves? Like what if the weather is like today where it was really hot and humid? Do I need to put the baby in cotton long sleeves onesie, cotton long pants, hat, socks and a cotton blanket? Or do I put the baby in a short sleeves onesie? With everything else the same? Or do I put no pants?
I know infants cant regulate their body temp but how do I make sure she doesnt overheat either?
And when do they begin to regulate?

I was always told only to out the baby in one more layer than you would wear in the COLD. You should dress them as you would in the summer.
I brought my early May and early September babies home in short sleeve dresses (which essentially were ankle-length because newborns--even my 8lb 10oz one--are tiny!), socks, and a light sweater.
ETA...May DD also had on a short sleeved onesie; I don't remember with the other.

I took my dd home in a selveless dress with a short sleeved cardigan over it. It was way too hot for long sleeves. I put a light weight blanket over her in the car because we had the ac on.

Found the cutest take home outfit for my  at the Carters outlet in Riverhead the other day...short sleeve onesie, really light little cardigan to go over with matching shorts and teeny tiny little socks that also match

I'm bringing 2 different outfits with me & will see what the weather will be like when discharged. One is a short sleeve romper, and the other is a long sleeve one.
