Summer Virus? ***Update***

Has anyone been experiencing what they call the "Summer Virus" with their DC?

This is the second time in 3 weeks that my DD has come down with a high fever and random vomiting. Those are the only symptoms. She has low energy and tolerance but she is still talking and singing and somewhat playing.

When I brought her to the doctor 3 weeks ago they did a rapid strep that came up negative. Doctor said it was just a virus and they couldn't give any meds.

Yesterday she started with the fever and its been pretty high. She had some random vomiting last night and this morning. Other than that she is ok. She's drinking a lot of water but not really eating.

I have a doctor appointment today at 4, but at this point I think its this virus again and not sure if I should waste my time (and the potential of her catching something else) at the doctor.

Any others experiencing this?

I just wanted to give an update. Thank you all for responding. I took DD to the doctor and she has strep throat Chat Icon

Summer Virus?

I wonder if this is what my dd has. She woke up fine yesterday and threw up 3 times yesterday. No more vomiting since but she has had a low grade fever since yesterday afternoon. She was a little cranky before her nap so I did give Tylenol. She woke up acting normal but still has a fever. I gave Motrin to her before bed and she woke up this morning with fever still but is running around like a nut job. I haven't called dr yet, was waiting to see how she does.

Eat- I hope your dd starts feeling better soon!

Summer Virus?

My DS had a high fever and now he has diarrhea. He never vomited but he kind of gagged here and there when the fever first started. I took him to the Dr and they said it's viral. I definitely think a stomach bug is going around. Hope she's better soon!

Summer Virus?

Yep. DD just had it over the weekend. Woke up 2am Saturday morning vomiting and with a fever. Continued through Saturday afternoon. Wouldn't do anything but lay on me. She woke up fine on Sunday. Now DH is home sick today.

Summer Virus?

My friends dd had a febrile seizure and was dx with a virus. Her fever spiked to 104! I feel so horrible for her. There must be something going around.

My other friend dd also was sick with a fever for a few days and a runny nose. Is feeling better now though.

Re: Summer Virus?

We're dealing with a fever virus right now. DS started Friday overnight. He seems ok during the day, then in the evening it spikes again

DS had a couple of these over the past few months. One in April (just a fever), one at the beginning of June (fever and vomiting, viral), and one two weeks later (turned out to be Roseola).

Awww poor baby. DD and I just recently got over fevers but they didn't last long so I'm assuming it was a virus. I don't run to the doc with the first high temp anymore because it always seems to be a virus.Chat Icon Hope little one feels better quickly!

DD woke up at 4am with her first ever fever. She doesn't seem to have any other symptoms other than that she slept until 10am so I'm hoping it won't last too long. Hope all the little ones get better very quickly!
