Sunday's Marathon - route question

Does anyone know if the Manhattan bridge will be closed at all? One route we saw said it was in Newsday earlier, but online didn't say that.

Anyone know? Thanks

Re: Sunday's Marathon - route question

Also, does anyone know what time all of this will be over and what time they expect traffic/roads to return to normal? We are going to be coming home from Kessler Sunday and I just want to know how late I should leave so we can avoid it all. We are hoping by like 6/7pm??

It doesn't go over the Manhattan Bridge, the route goes from SI to Brooklyn, then to Queens then to the city over the 59th St. Bridge. It doesn't go from Brooklyn direct to Manhattan and/or vice versa.

I read today to expect closings/delays until around 5:15pm.

Well, Kessler is in West Orange, NJ.

We are coming from there toward home - which is in Suffolk County, Long Island. I just don't want to get stuck or anything. We usually take the Lincoln Tunnel to the Midtown Tunnel and then the LIE or Northern State. I'm wondering if this is going to be a huge disaster OR if it'll be OK - just after a certain time. We were going to leave around 6/7pm hoping that would be late enough and everything would be over and settled by then. Chat Icon

Thank you. We did look at that, and it didn't show Manhattan bridge as being closed. But Newsday had a map today that had Manhattan bridge being closed, althougth we think it's probably a typo and they meant "Madison" which is listed on the link you provided.

So that's what is confusing!
