Super swollen feet after giving birth???

My feet suddenly became super swollen. I know many pregnant women get swollen feet. I am 3 days pp.

Why are my feet swollen AFTER giving birth???

Did this happen to anyone else?

Totally normal.

Happened to me too. All the nurses said it was normal.

yes happened to me and the doc said it's normal and it went down after about 5-6 days (I had a c-section)

I didn't swell up at all my entire pregnancy. I swelled up like crazy after birth.

I don't remember how long it lasted but it felt like forever. I have never ever gotten swollen before it was so traumatic for me.

I think its a side effect of the IV fluids, did you get any? I'm honestly not sure what they said caused it, but I was pretty sad about it.

My feet were so swollen I couldn't walk...It was horrible. Drink plenty of fluids and keep them elevated as much as you can...It is usually from the fluid they give you while you are in the hospital..It will go away in a few days..Congratulations on the birth of your little one...

ughh yes! I wasnt swollen at all during the pregnancy, except my face at the very end. But my ankles were so bad 2 weeks PP. Drink a lot of water. And I couldnt wear my rings for a while either, but I wore them my whole pregnancy too.

Happened to me too. They were swollen for about a week. I had tree trunks for ankles. So gross.

Mine were insanely swollen for a few weeks. They pump a lot of fluid into you and it takes a while to get rid if it.

Yes, my feet and ankles were horribly swollen after giving birth. Much more so than they ever were while pg. I called dr. the day I came home. He said it was normal and would go down in a couple of weeks.

Yup....totally normal! Mine did....started about 5 days PP and lasted 5-6 days.

My feet and legs were so swollen I had no knees or ankles...it was just leg.

It took over a week and half for them to go back to normal and have knees and ankles again.

It was very painful and hard to walk. I kept them elevated as much as possible. It helped a little bit...not much though

I had that too and my doctor actually had to prescribe a water pill to get rid of it.

TOTALLY NORMAL! Between all the fluid they pump into you and your body get rid of everything, I was literally 20Xs more swollen then I ever was PG.

My sister (DPerottis) DH actually came over the day after we got home and was like "OMG, is that OK, should your feet look like that", LMAO. Thats how bad it was. I called my OB bc I was convinced I had some kind of abnormal swelling and she reassured me it was normal. Just keep your legs up!

totally normal. mine were horribly swollen - could barely put a flip flop on - got better in about a week I think.

Happened to me. They pump a lot of fluid in during and after birth. Whenever you can put your feet up, do it. It will go away.

My feet and ankles (or should I say cankles!!!) didn't go away till about 2 weeks PP. Hang in there and congratulations!

yes, happened tome and about a week after i peed allll night, woke up with my old feet again!

totally normal especially if you had an IV - my feet were so swollen they didn't even look like they were my feet anymore - they were like that for about a week - try (when you can) to keep your feel elevated

I was swollen from my hips all the way thru my toes. I looked deformed. It took about 2 weeks for the swelling to go down.

the swelling was so bad BEFORE birth and i thought it would go away right after. they werent back to normal until almost 2 weeks later.

Mine did too. I believe it's from being on the iv. I think. It will go away
