Superbowl vent!
who was the genius who decided to make the Superbowl on a SUNDAY NIGHT?!  the game isn't over until 10:30 or later and then people have to work the next day. makes it a little difficult to have a party.

It's been on a Sunday night since the beginning. Most football games are on a Sunday during the season anyway - why would the Super Bowl be any different?

I know.. I'm just mad b/c the game ends so late. at least have it during the day.

I don't think that's late for a Sunday. It's not like the game is over at 12.
Most of the time it's a blow out anyway and people leave before it's over.

I don't think that's terribly late for a Sunday either. It's like watching Monday night football - which starts later than the Super Bowl does. Now that's late!

OMG you are reading my mind. I thought the same thing. DH and i are HUGE Giants fans and so obv we are watching. I swear i think i might call in sick on monday bc we are hosting the superbowl and i know its gonna be a late night

but really, how many times a year do you do this (I am assuming not many)
I am trying to keep up with the Australian Open right now... now THAT is late.
don't make it a chore...or better yet, don't host...this way you can leave as soon as the whistle blows and maybe even make it home by bedtime!

I hear you... we travel to NJ every year for it and are always exhaused the next day because we don't get home until well after midnight. Oh well- I guess I have to take one for the team.

that's just the sacrifice you make once a year to enjoy something. If it really means that much to you, you host it and get to bed later than usual. The next day you might feel tired but it's just one day.
Better yet, go to a bar or someone else's house and get home in time for bed.

I wish it were earlier too! I'm usually in bed by 10:00, if not earlier. I wake up at 5:45, and need at least 7.5 hours of sleep.
And every year my kids are useless the day after the superbowl. It should be a teacher workday or something :P

Hmmmm Maybe DH can take the next day off.
I don't think we are doing anything. We may just go to my parents.

This is my argument to DH. Fine, people will leave by 11. But then I have to clean up and it's just a pain. And I need to be in bed by 11. I hate having to host the Superbowl party.
